We tried to go up on March 27 but you get stuck before the pass. The snow turns into a vertical wall without a way over it. It was super windy as well so if you do attempt it, bring a wind breaker and face protection!

The trail was deep with snow. Snowshoes required. We weren’t able to make it over the pass since the snow had built up and drifted the pass over. It was very windy but still great views of the mountains.

Great hike. Lots of snow. The snowshoes were vital. A storm was coming in so it was pretty windy with flurries, especially in the pass itself. But we thoroughly enjoyed it!

HikingGreat!MuddyRocky

Wear hiking boots (waterproof), loose rocks especially the first incline. The first mile incline is no joke and steep with loose rocks. Once at the top, the view is incredible. the hike down to the water isn't bad but still made me winded coming back up. Once down on the water it was gorgeous to walk on the sand/rocks. I wish it was frozen to go across to the actual glacier. Since it wasn't we tried finding a way around heading left. There was a cool little stream but too deep to cross without waders. There was a neat little waterfall. It was an enjoyable hike (except the steep incline at beginning of hike)

Super cool trail with views of the glacier all throughout. It was very clear today which was great. Would highly recommend wearing solid hiking boots, waterproof if possible, as you will be basically walking on a creek and lots of mud throughout.

Great trail with stunning views. Heavy rain and fog but still incredible. Have good hiking boots, waterproof. Parts were muddy and through shallow waterways. First mile or so is challenging incline on loose rocks. Challenging, rewarding, and of the better reasons to take the toll tunnel to Whittier.

It was super wet and the clouds made any views impossible. Water on almost all of the trail but doable. Definitely inclined for the first mile as stated previously. Rocky the entire way but not slippery. There were a couple areas of slight scrambling. Passed the elevation marker the trail was a little more difficult to read due to large puddles and many branch offs and it was way less defined. May be easier on a day with better weather and more visibility though. Other than that it was a good hike, with I’m sure, better views when the clouds and fog are gone.

Very fun! Woodsy. Was windy on the first side. We found it kinda hard to find the trailhead on the way back from the lake.
