Plumley-Maud Trail is a 6.2 mile out and back trail located near Palmer, Alaska that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Originally a logging road, this trail has many small 'logging' roads off of the main trail. It can used year-round for a multitude of activities. Can be accessed from either Maud Road or Plumley Road. Parking is limited at both ends so use roadside as parking and be aware of private residences.

June 21, 2020this was a gorgeous rainy day hike, although the mud was a challenge. there was not a lot of people, but there are plenty of ways to get lost on this trail so keep that in mind.
May 4, 2020Very muddy this time of year but it wasn’t busy so the dog could be off the leash most of the way. Definitely could get lost, there were many trails that veered off the main one. Overall ok though because of the beautiful view of the mountains.

First to ReviewGreat winter hike. Features a creek, beautiful mountain vistas, spruce and birch forest, as well as open hayfields. Did from Plumley to Maud just one way. About 3 miles. Trekked in snow machine tracks most of way. Wildlife included one bull moose on road by Trailhead.
