Great day hike, a little muddy on the descent with rain. Recommend trekking poles if you do peak 2 first and then peak 3 like I did. Follow the switchbacks not shown on all trails from peak 2/flattop saddle to the trailhead to prevent erosion! Phone died part way through.

Nice day hike, only saw a few other hikers. Got a little muddy on the descent as it was rainy, recommend trekking poles if you go up peak 2 and down from peak 3. The map doesn’t show the switchbacks up to the saddle between flattop and peak 2, but there are nice switchbacks and everyone should use them to prevent further trail erosion!

It was really pretty with all the fall colors. But it started raining and the trail got pretty muddy and slick so we had to turn around early. Still a great hike, though!

Peak 2. No water along route for dogs so make sure to pack some. Good inclined hike that’s not too long.

Dog friendly trail. Trail is mostly dry. Little patches of snow toward peak but can easily go around it. Highly recommend going early in morning cause it’ll be too hot later in day. Some wind at top. View was worth the hike.

The trail is looking very nice and mostly dry in most parts! However, at the split between the back side of Flat Top and Peak 2, the steep part of the trail up to Peak 2 has a bit of snow that’s quite mushy. It’s totally doable, but be careful without trekking poles or spikes, as it is slippery. The peak is dry and snow-free, and a great place to hang out and have a beer.

Awesome trail. Short hike for some gorgeous views. Took us a little under 1.5 hours to get to the peak and back. Muddy with snow and ice in some spots and at the summit. I would say it’s 50/50 between dry and snow/mud/ice. Made it without spikes, but would’ve preferred to have them.
