Description
Waypoints (0)

A pleasant, easy walk on a gravel trail to a stunning waterfall. There is an alternate, longer trail option that follows the shore of the lake. Accessibility: The trails around the visitor center are paved and considered wheelchair and stroller friendly but this trail surface is gravel so may not be navigable with all kinds of equipment. The surface turns to sand at the base of the falls. The typical width is at least four feet.

Trail was easy, out and back. snow was packed on the trail. The lake is thawing, so can't get to the ice caves using this route any more this year.

Fantastic trail, easy to follow. Pretty crowded on a sunny Saturday in October. I did this as part of a 13 mile circuit (photo point, nugget falls, East Glacier, Nugget Creek, Trail of Time, Steep Creek). Saw a couple of bears on this portion, too

Pretty fun short trail. There are two different routes- the main trail and a trail that goes along the shore of the lake. The latter offers beautiful views while the former accommodates for those who need more accessibility. The end of the trail features a large waterfall and views of the lake and glacier. Definitely a fun short walk.

Nice and easy walk. The trail itself is rather boring, but the waterfall is worth it.

Great easy trail for daily walk or. Is it. Great scenery and easy to follow. With recent traffic and colder temps, the snow on trail has packed hard and is icy in spots. Ice cleats are good for footing

If you go in the summer, expect hoards of people. The waterfall is amazing and if you have a kid, wading in the glacier water is pretty cool too. The amount of people on the trail is not so cool.

Beautiful and easy hike to Mendenhall Lake. The views of the waterfall and glacier are spectacular. We only had an hour to visit the area so we ran/walked to the lake and took pictures. Then spent about 20 minutes at the salmon stream looking for bears. Didn’t see any but still love area!!

This was INCREDIBLE, Beautiful and amazing, Highly RECOMMENDED. easy hike to Mendenhall Lake. The views of the waterfall and glacier are spectacular, I really don’t know how to be described, STUNNING waterfall. The crowds weren’t bad because we were late in the season and since we are on a cruise most of the people did some other tours.

This was a great trail to a STUNNING waterfall. The crowds weren’t bad because we were late in the season and since we are on a cruise we also took the later trip to the glacier. The weather was SUNNY and the trail seemed either paved or packed down and easy to walk briskly. Would highly recommend.

One word. OUTSTANDING.!!!! Don't miss this hike. Takes you directly to the base of these large falls. And much closer to Mendenhal Glacier than the visitor center. Very easy trail to hike for all skill levels. Bring your camera!!
