Saw a black bear about 100 yards from the entrance on my way out today. Saw it twice...or it might have been two different bears. Not especially curious but not especially frightened of me. Walk itself is muddy and buggy but easy and beautiful. Couldn’t get to the falls because of private property. But a good trail.

Good trail. Muddy with a bit of snow. Need to cross water towards the end, but nothing major. Highlight was coming within 30 feet of a moose on the way back, who, fortunately, didn’t seem to mind our music.

1st trek of 2018. Nice trail, still a bit muddy and icy in places as expected.

River Woods trail is wide and forgiving for about 1.5 miles, but where the trail crosses private property before getting to the falls a pretty impressive barricade has been constructed. If you want to see the falls recommend the shorter approach from the upper trailhead on Ken Logan Circle off Hiland Rd.
