We started an hour or so after high tide peak, sand was mushy but we had the whole place to ourselves. Made it 3/4 the way down but coukd've made it to the restaurants/shops on the Spit & back. Even on a cloudy day, makes for fun walking/running/exploring. Kid friendly. Usually windy. Have fun!

Homer is one of my favourite places in the world simply because of the beach walk.

Oh my God, this hike is gorgeous. I got lucky with weather and had a clear day not a cloud in the sky. The tricky part of the hike is to know the tides because you can end up trapped on the other side for awhile. If your careful and plan according it can be great hike
