Did this trail today, very packed down path that was pretty easy. I did with spikes but 4 others had none and were fine. Stay on the packed trail and it’s an easy little hike with beautiful views.

Trail is packed and easy to follow. Stay on trail to avoid post-holing. A few of the uphills were slippery with the new snow but I made it without micro-spikes. It’s a beautiful place to get away from it all in winter.

Nice trail for xc skiing, snowshoeing. Poles needed as deep snow above river in some areas..have to pay attention to footing.

Very rainy and muddy. Most of the colors are gone now. Very few people on the trail. Snow should be down the mountain in a week or so.

Loved it, perfect hike and weather. The views were gorgeous as well as the quietness when we went. Only ran into a couple of people. The beaver dams were a cool sight as well. Our 12 year old daughter came with so we turned around a little after mile 5

Awesome trail. Brutal finish but worth it for the awesome hut and views from the top. Shouts out to the MCA for maintaining the mint hut

Trail was in excellent condition for the first 3 miles (which is as far as we went). Bugs weren't bad, lots of water available for my dog. I stopped at the beaver pond at mile 1.8 and was fortunate to see them making their home, so we sat and watched for a while. Other hikers coming down reported making it all 6 miles back, a little muddy at mile 5ish. overall lovely hike.

Pretty trail. We went to the 4.7 and had to turn around as it was water all around. Anybody found the way further? Beautiful scenery, lots of birds, a little bit of uphill. Supper muddy after 4.0 mile and lots of bugs in between 3 and 4 mile mark. Not too crowded. We had lots of fun!

5/31/20 Trail started off nicely. About .38 of a mile in there’s a pretty bridge with your first view of the rapids. It was raining making the path a little muddier than we would’ve liked, but still not bad. Between miles 2-3 there were 3 avalanche areas that still had snow and trees in the way of the trail. Once at mile 4, you can only go about another third of a mile before the trail gets lost in the mud/snow/trees.

HikingBugsNo shade

Pretty views and easy path. Lots of wildflowers. However, there wasn’t any shade, and the bugs were REALLY bad (both mosquitoes and biting flies). This unfortunately caused us to turn back early. Highly recommend bug spray, long pants and sleeves, and netting if available as of 7/5. I imagine this is a nice hike under better circumstances.

Trail was good until mile 3.5. A little muddy in some spots. You may want to bring extra socks. Great trail for a relaxing day out without steep inclines. Very family friendly trail.
