Bunker Hill is a small peak in the region of Unalaska Island (the home of Dutch Harbor). Bunker Hill is named after the WWII concrete bunker sitting at the top of the hill and is easily accessible from two different starting points. The start from Airport Beach Rd it shorter but steeper, while the trail marked here that is accessed by Henry Swanson Dr. is more gradual but slightly longer. Commanding views of Captains Bay, Iliuliuk Bay, and Nateekin Bay from the top of the old bunker and views of the foundations for the stationary guns here during WWII. Straightforward hike with no need for trail markers since there are few trees on the island.

It’s all uphill to the bunker at the top, but well worth the effort. Do it on a sunny summer day for GREAT views of the area!

Nice little hike with awesome 360 views of the three main bays in the area. Very little traffic so you will usually have the bunker to yourself.
