Very Interesting Place For Bamboo This is a nice short hike for the family. The trail is in the city of Prattville, AL. This park was the 1st wilderness park dedicated inside a city limits in the United States. This occurred in 1982. This park is full of very large bamboo. the bamboo is unusual in the area. A majority of the stalks are taller than 65 feet. The loop is less than 1/2 mile so it is a nice hike for the whole family. The trail is paved and there are a few benches to sit down and take a rest. Please take the time to read the info about the park at the trailhead.

This was a short 20minute walk. very easy trail and pretty well maintained. there were some trees blocking the path, but it was easy to get around. It was pretty neat to see the different types of bamboo.

Having never seen bamboo growing in the wild, I loved this park. The trail is very short, but very unique. Apparently in the past it was used for climate training by the military, which is also unique. Several types of bamboo were growing to towering heights. The trail also goes around a little pond where you can see and hear frogs and turtles. While short, this one was a lot of fun and very unexpected.

Wonderful little park! Fun to see and explore all the bamboo! My puppy enjoyed the walk as well. Only thing I would change is make it bigger! I would have loved it if the trail was closed to even a mile. Didn’t wear out my pup as much as I had hoped haha

I had a great time! As a photographer I can find beauty anywhere! It was cold so we didn’t stay long. But my son and I had a blast taking pictures! Not considered a hike, but a little sight seeing pullover really.

it was really short and nothing really to look at other than bamboo lol

Too short to really count as a hike. Maybe five minutes to round the loop. Still, it's very pretty bamboo and a nice place to walk out of the harsh sun in the 95+ degree summers.

I'm a little biased, as I work near here, but it's a beautiful LITTLE trail around a small, stagnant pond. Bamboo is of mythical heights, and in the heat of August it's a cool little spot. Easy walk for the kids.

Sad to see the “pond” was a stagnant, unkept spot of water. Bamboo was down over the trail.

Very short loop around a small pond. But it is in the middle of a bamboo forest!! Very quiet and serene. If in the area it is something to enjoy for about 15 minutes. Not worth going out of way to hike. It is not a hike. It is a stroll around a little pond in the middle of a bamboo forest!

Very short and not worth walking unless your dog needs a short walk in the woods.

This was nice. But the fact that it's only less than a quarter of a mile only killed about 15 minutes at best. It's a cute little place and would recommend it for something different to do in Prattville.
