Parked one car at the Peavine parking lot and second car at the North trailhead where we started the hike. Hit the trail at 745am. Overcast and cloudy so as we started into the woods it was very surreal. Felt like we were in the Misty Mountains in Lord Of The Rings. The first mile and a half was a beautiful slight ascent to the top of the mountain. Beautiful streams and cool rock formations along the way with a great view from the top of Indian Rock. At this point a pretty severe thunderstorm was hanging just north of us over Birmingham and the radar said we were fine but a soon as we hit the top of the ridge line it started raining on us. The temp dropped which was awesome and the rain started lightly as well. No complaints. But the storm shifted south and we spent the next 90 minutes under the deluge. The thunder was amazing. The trail was still very passable but we did walk thru quite a bit of water as we journeyed thru the storm. Top of the ridge was slightly overgrown but passable. Finally descended down to do the last mile up the creek also a little overgrown. Stopped at Peavine Falls for a minute and ascended to the parking lot. 3.5 hours and 6.9 miles total. Was an epic adventure and absolutely loved the first half thru the woods. Will consider the same trailhead and ascend the Blue trail to Kings Chair and then use the Orange connector to loop back to the White trail and descend it back thru the woods to the North trailhead starting point. Will definitely do this hike again.

Nice trail. As first time hikers it didn't seem easy, but this hike was amazing. Diverse terrain, great views. Will definately do it again!

This trail is really nice because of the waterfall and little creeks you pass along the way. It's difficult/steep in certain parts due to the rapid elevation gain, but it's not hard. I wore my 3 month old in the carrier and we had no problems. There was a ton of trash out there, but we picked it up and packed it out. PLEASE STOP LITTERING.

Loved this trail. Had some difficult areas to climb, but the scenery was beautiful. I definitely hope to hike here again soon.

Beautiful trail for hiking, running, bird watching. If you are running in the summer, start early, and take a large hydration pack with you. Good all year long.

Not easy but convenient and well worth effort. You will hike by streams rock formations cliffs and a waterfall. However an elevation gain of about 400 ft in 1/4 mile is required.
