Park Entrance fee is $5. The Ironwood Road loop is an easy loop. Only minimal elevation. The Tannehill Park Trail Map you can purchase or print from the park website is confusing and not at all helpful. Take the bridge past the furnace and on your right is a green Ironwood Road sign. Sign says 0.7 miles, but the loop is closer to 4 miles. Lots of trails branch off the loop and markers give you difficulty level of the trail, but not trail length. You run into a dead end fork and a large trail map sign that is confusing because it does NOT tell you where you are or which way to go for the rest of the loop. I took the left. The last 1/3 of the loop has laminated paper arrows pointing out the loop direction, benches, and markers identifying tree species. Trail road is wide and beautiful, but signage is awful.

I loved this trail. Great with kids and a dog. Easy going with some elevation changes for a good workout. Beautiful views of the creek. Lots of historical markers. Solid benches along the trail, too.

A nice, easy trail (with a couple of relatively small elevations) that goes aprons the perimeter of the park with lots of options to hop on one of the more challenging trails. We’ve had lots of rain recently so it was fairly muddy and there were some trees down in spots, but nothing too bad as long as you’ve got boots on.

The historical significance of this location provides an additional star. The furnace is an impressive structure, and the museum is a must. The slave cemetary is the somber highlight of this hike. I added on the dam trail for some nature and river views. Be mindful of cyclists and wear something bright. Cyclist, please watch where you're going.

The trail was very nice and shaded. There were a few slight elevations or small hill. The heat about got to me though. The trail had several nice benches going toward the cemetery trail but none on the other side of the trail.

Easy to find wide well marked path. Although it says easy there are some hills so if you’re out of shape you will notice by the end. My only complaint is although the trails are marked it would be nice if they would put mileage on the markers to let you know how far to each point. Take plenty of water, although mostly shady there were times with little shade and the walk feels way longer than it is at times due to the inclines.

Bike trails in total make a beautiful meandering training workout. Wonderful in Autumn

For the most part this was an easy hike. In some areas it gets a little confusing. They are adding roads or making improvements to the trails and they have cut through some of the trails. I think I probably did a number of these trails because I wasn't sure were I was going at times. Overall a decent trail and I loved exploring the history of the place.

Nice lollipop loop featuring Civil War era iron furnace. Route entirely follows two-track old roads including an iron haul road and a stagecoach road. On the harder side of easy due to length and several small hills. There are also many single-track mountain bike trails here, but if you end up hiking on single-track you have lost the main loop. Overall, a quiet, fairly easy hike with an historical flair.

This is your basic trail. Nothing fancy and there’s no good views. The park is a great place with history but for a good hike you have better places like Oak Mountain and the Pinhoti trail in Alabama. This trail is easy and great for kids for a hour or two hike but if your looking for great views and more of a challenge look elsewhere.

This is in between a pleasant stroll in the woods and a hike, but closer to a stroll. Well maintained but not necessarily wonderfully marked for beginners.

This was one of my first hikes in new hiking boots. The trails were in great shape with plenty of shade from the Alabama heat. I liked how most of the trails dovetailed into one another. We will definitely go back!

This trail is ok, but nothing special really. Most of the loop trail is on gravel roads basically (albeit historical gravel roads). The few sightseeing highlights are the furnaces, the creek views and the slave cemetery. Trail is easy. There are many other trails at Tannehill also, some perhaps shorter but more interesting. This is kind of a large loop around the perimeter of the park. Did enjoy the labeling of all the various tree species on the first section.

Took a nice hour and a half walk around the park. There were a lot of people around the river in the center of the park and in the campgrounds but the trails were not over crowded. It looks like they are doing a lot of expansion with their bike trails, B.U.M.P seems to be sponsoring it. Lots of historical buildings and sites to see. They did have a mineral and gem event going on as well as craft cabins running. Looks like a lot to do for a family with kids! There is a entrance fee: $5 adults, $4 seniors, and Children 6-11 $3.

It's a Thursday so there were very few people there. I took my dog through the Cemetery Trail and out through the Slave Quarters a total of about 3 miles. Really easy. The trails are not well marked but most of them are connected in a loop back to the same starting place. The river was very pretty. More of a stroll but it was nice.
