This is not an official trail, so this route involves bushwacking and route-finding. There is no defined trail and only a few visible markers - first blue, then yellow, but we definitely suggest downloading the offline maps. Not kid/pet friendly as there are snakes and bugs in the area.

HikingGreat!

the trail was easy until you reach the gorge near shangri-la, even then it's not really bad, but if your willing to get your feet wet, follow the canyon up to collier creek falls, it's an impressive 1/2 mile journey.

Amazing little hike. Big tree down right at the falls itself from recent storms but doesn’t take away from enjoying the hike. The trail has been marked recently. Follow the all trails map and you’ll be fine. But the directions to get there are a bit difficult to navigate. Just be sure to go through the open gate and then the trail head is about a mile down that road on the right. Small parking area with 3 columns marked “do not block”. Y’all enjoy. Safe travels. Cheers.

I cannot stress enough to download the AllTrails map and follow it exactly!! Today we came across a place where the trail appears to split, we took the less muddy trail (which appeared well traveled) and got so far off track that we had to bushwhack our way back to the correct path. And the descent into the canyon is very difficult. We had decent gear and still ended up sliding down on our bums. It wasn’t muddy but still damp enough to be very slippery. No good footholds. The waterfall was beautiful, an extremely gorgeous area but I don’t think we would do this trail again unless we had rope to tie to a tree to help us get down and then back up again (Not sure if that’s “Leave No Trace” friendly though). I am in my 40’s, I had my 17 & 14 year olds with me and we all found the descent difficult. Beautiful but I think it’s a one and done for us. To be fair we only started hiking the Sipsey a year ago so more experienced hikers may not find it as tough. This was by far the hardest descent we’ve come across, worse than Parker Falls even!! Still really beautiful though, just go prepared and use the AllTrails app!!

Trail is clearly marked and visible all the way to the descent into the “creek canyon” it get a little precarious a couple of times but still clearly marked. The falls is beautiful and worth the hike. It took 45mjns to get there at a moderate pace. Safe for kids that have a little bit of hiking experience and same for trail dogs. Wouldn’t suggest it for the inexperienced. They may not like the slippery portions.

it's a bit of a challenge getting up and down when you reach the falls.

Well marked trail. Stay to the right when you cross the first creek for the quickest way to the falls. After the rain there are some steep slippery areas.

Trail was spotty along some areas. Push through & follow the AllTrails directions. The end result is so worth it! Be careful, some spots are very steep & slippery!

This is a moderate hike with an amazing objective. There is a trail. There are some trees down which obscures the best path. If you aren’t on the best path, there can be a lot of climbing involved. Some reviews report following orange stripes which are forest service markings for tree cuts. As are many of the ties flags in blue and pink. Follow the all trails app path and the walked trail.

We need to get a group together to clear an actual trail for this hidden gem of two waterfalls and awesome canyon. If there was a clear cut trail, this would be the best shorter trail in Bankhead.

Amazing hike. VERY slippery areas the closer you get to the creek but trust me when I say that every bit of the work to get to the falls is 100% worth it. Definitely could get lost without a downloaded map of the area. Not kid or dog friendly.

The trail was much better marked than anticipated. Some steep places, would recommend not going after heavy rain. Highly recommended.

More dangerous than Parker Creek. Wear shoes with the best grips. Bring a Buddy.

Did in in the winter with not much vegetation, a 9 year old and a Dachshund. So many leaves had fallen that what there was of the trail was obscured. Long pants are recommend for the hike due to shrubs and briars. From the trail head, follow the trail for maybe a half mile until you see a large pine tree off to the left of the trail with 3 large, horizontal orange painted lines. If you walk to that tree and keep walking down the hill until you hit the creek, you can follow the creek to the falls. The falls are a complex of falls going all the way down to the main stream. Absolutely beautiful. It was pretty dry when we went and will definitely go back during a wetter time.
