Please consider donating to the Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve. The preserve does not receive any public funding. If you are entering from Ruffner Road, please respect neighbors and do not block driveways, enter private property, or park incorrectly. Entering from the main entrance on 81st Street is advised. Free trail maps and point-of-interest guides are available in the park gift shop, as well as some live animals native to the area such as snakes, lizards, turtles and even a flying squirrel. There are also several native animals housed outside the gift shop such as owls, hawks and possums.

05/07/2019 A wonderfully vigorous hike! Some areas of the trail were slightly overgrown but still penetrable. I imagine this will become more of an issue as the spring/summer progresses. The trail is mostly well marked and easy to follow.
