It was an ok hike. The shelter is just a little more than a mile into the hike. If you're just wanting to see some nice scenery, call it quits at the shelter. The map leads on for another mile, but it wasn't like there was a definite spot you'd want to stop at there. The hike was either too long (perhaps ending at the shelter) or to short and should end at the campgrounds about another five miles further. As far as the trail itself, a little overgrown in a few spots and the trail felt a bit narrow. Plenty of shade throughout. Not a lot of places to stop and sit.

Great kid friendly hike.

This was a really good hike. It was easy enough for my 5 year old to make it without overdoing it. However it ended up being a 2.7 mile round trip despite the app saying it’s a 4 mile round trip. Would definitely recommend.

This was a great trail for young kids. Trail was well-marked and not a lot of up and down. It’s about a mile until you get to water, FYI for dogs, and the shelter is right when you get to creek. The shelter is adequate with a great fire pit & beautiful creek wrapping it. Nice place to hike to camp or hike to & hang out for the day. I’m not sure of park requirements for camping.
