Pinhoti Trail: Chief Ladiga Trail to CR 500 is a 15 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Piedmont, Alabama that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and backpacking. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
February 14, 2021Trail was in great shape despite tons of rain the few days prior, but nearly made of one the streams inpassable, so many stream crossings!

First to ReviewI just did this trail 2/15/20 Forest Service signs state it is 9 miles one way..It had a couple steep up hill 1000 feet in a mile to mile and a half and down hill in both directions .Plan 5 hours maybe 6 if it's warm. Several nice campsite along the way Creek halfway through and a shelter on Oakey Mountain 2 miles in from Ladiga Trail. Pretty Watershed lake 2.4 miles in from FS 500 and a Shelter half mile in from 500.
