Overlook, Observator, Amphitheater North plateu Loop is the trail that surrounds the inner park and provides access to 5 other trails in the monte sano system. While it is the heavest used trail (and easiest) it does provide a specatacular view of logan point and the northwest side of Monte Sano Mountain as well as the Amphitheater, an abandoned lodge, and the CCC built picnic area. Where a CCC reunion was held in 1983.

Today was our first time on the NP trail. The hike was good but the highlight was when a small fawn, about 18"H×18"L came right up to me and sniffed my leg. I've never had that experience before, at least not in the wild. we will definitely be back!

It was pretty, well marked, and easy. It was busy with lots of hikers and mountain bikers. Unfortunately, the waterfall on McKay Hollow was nonexistent.

Great for getting out and enjoying nature. Easy to tack on extra miles on one of the connected trails. Easy walk with the pups and fam, but you share it with cyclists which gets awkward in places. Bring a map as it may get confusing in some places even though the trails are clearly marked.

Great easy trail for a quick run or an easy hike.

Simple easy walk, good for taking it slow with your dog and just enjoying being outdoors. Just be aware that there's a slope that drops off from the trail. You could find yourself tumbling through underbrush with a wrong step

Very good hike for the family. Took our 6 year old, and blue heeler; they both had fun. It passes by the two lookouts, the amphitheater, the observatory and a ravine of about 60 ft deep with a couple of other trails running underneath. The only challenging part was the narrow path next to the ravine as we had to share it with a couple of cyclist passing by, making it a little dangerous for them. It was varied enough to keep us entertained. Looking forward to doing it again once it's lusher with vegetation. Uploaded a couple of panoramic pictures.

Very beautiful set of footpaths. We practically had this place to ourselves. So peaceful.

Clean, quick, and easy. Great hike for beginners and families if you are in the area. The trailhead is right next to the "general store", which right now is a trailer while they renovate the real one. Not a secluded hike by any means, so if that is what you are looking for, you might look to do the South Plateau Loop.

This trail is not one for seclusion. It passes by the lodge, the picnic area, campsites, the observatory... However you go right by the best two views in the park but one you can drive right up to and the other is part of the picnic area which is a short walk from the parking area. It is an interesting walk but not what I look for in a hike.

We (me, my teenager, & her bff) really enjoyed this hike. It was our first hike ever! We were nervous but it was clearly marked & easy to follow. We saw squirrels, chipmunks, & deer.
