Marian Harnach Nature Trail is a 0.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Birmingham, Alabama that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This is an easy half-hour hike that is suitable for all ages. The Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve is located only minutes from downtown Birmingham, yet offers a chance to totally escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the wilderness. Please consider donating to the Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve. The preserve does not receive any public funding. Free trail maps and point-of-interest guides are available in the park gift shop, as well as some live animals native to the area such as snakes, lizards, turtles and even a flying squirrel. There are also several native animals housed outside the gift shop such as owls, hawks and possums.
