Great place nestled in the city. Flat walking and trails, as well as spots for biking. Dogs welcome. It’s easy to do a few loops and hit different routes each time.

Great spot in the middle of Montgomery. Easy walk and longer than shown on the map. More options that it shows. Fun walk for kids and dogs etc. Pretty hike next to a golf course and a small creek. Would go again.

Nice, well maintained trail. One part of the loop is a bit close to the road so the traffic was loud, but overall a nice trail around a city. Lots of wildlife (turtles, birds, snakes, frogs, etc. But sadly no alligators today). Mid-March, so hardly any bugs for an area predominantly surrounded by a lagoon and creek. Didn't have my binoculars in Alabama, but still got to see a double crested cormorant.

This was a nice trail park within the city limits - it gave the feeling of an escape with the convenience of easy access. We went on this trail in Jan and we did the trail as shown as well as the offshoot around the lagoons into the Piney Grove region and then went back via the backcountry trail. All in all it was approximately 4.5 miles. The trail was well marked (and well maintained) with maps abound as well as some pavilions and benches for a rest. If you take the offshoot, there are also restrooms by the picnic area at the lagoons. The trail was great for bird watching even in winter. We saw an egret, hawk, cardinals, geese, and more. We were hoping for an alligator, but sadly were out of luck lol. The lagoons were lovely and peaceful. However, the offshoot towards Piney Grove ran right by the highway, which kind of ruined the ambiance for me. On the whole it was a conveniently located dirt/paved trail (and I bet in the spring and fall it’s even nicer) within the city. We will return for a quick escape again the future.

This isn’t going to give you big inclines, but it was surprising to see some of the drop offs down to creeks and nice lush growth on both sides of clean singletrack. You actually feel as though you’re “getting away” for a short time. I guess all I can say is I’m surprised, I expected it to be more walking on orange dirt made for golf carts. Instead, it was mostly very nice trails through forest. I’ll be back. The volunteers have really done an amazing job of trail maintenance and choosing the track.

Nice little trail that is well maintained and easy to follow. Great place to go for a walk after work or to test out new equipment before heading out into the more intense stuff. Very easy, nothing technical or physically taxing. Even some nice little areas to stop off for lunch if you feel like packing a meal. Probably a little too short and a little too easy to make it worth hauling a mountain bike up there unless you wanted to test it. I give it four stars just because it is great at being what it is which is a short, easy trail. It's not particularly exciting.
