A really nice well maintained short loop trail. It was great for taking our 8 month old in a stroller. There was a nice amount of shade and the forest was nice and calm. Almost no one else on the trail on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Really nice views of the water as well with a well maintained boardwalk with benches looking out.

A very nice well maintained trail. Family friendly. Takes you by the bay side of Gulf Shores. Rated as easy. Park benches all along the way. A great beginners hike. There are also two other connecting trails close by. The Centenniel trail and the pine beach trail.

Great ADA compliant and family friendly trail that is a mix of gravel and hardwood. Travels through a maritime forest then to a more coastal area alongside Little Lagoon. The trail is actually a little shorter than a mile.

I hiked the Jeff Friend Trail and part of the Pine Beach trail via the Centennial connector trail. The Jeff Friend loop and part of the Pine Beach trail are well maintained with great views of Little Lagoon and Gator Lake. The Centennial trail connector has some overgrown areas and in need of maintenance on some of the boardwalks. All of the trails have good interpretive and directional signage throughout.

A beautiful trail. Easy for beginners or a family with children. The view about half way makes this short trail well worth the time it takes to walk it!

Dogs are NOT allowed on this trail. We were unable to hike here. Gulf Shores State Park is not far from this location and offers numerous dog friendly trails.

update - The Jeff Friend trail loop has been completed renuvated with a new level walking surface. They installed wooden foot bridges with composite decking material that border the water shoreline. just beautiful.

We saw a Pygmy rattlesnake and huge water moccasin.

Did this and the latter half of pine beach trail. There are the ruins of an old house off the trail with some interesting history. The bear is secluded and probably one of the few places where there are no condos built.

Not a long trail but a very nice nature trail that skirts the lagoon. We hike it every year while snow birding in Gulf Shores.

Nice 1 mile loop partial gravel and boardwalk. There was a tree down on the boardwalk that was easy to step over when I went. Centennial Trail branches off from but didn't try this trip. Trail head has parking and maps.
