Horse Creek Walking Trail is a 7.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Dora, Alabama that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and road biking and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This is a great multi-use trail! The trail is nice and clear with beautiful surrounding woods. Accessibility: The trail surface is paved and typically at least four feet wide. The estimated grade is moderately steep, all 8% or less, on the southern portion from the parking area but there are very steep sections over 12% on the northern portion (so that section is not recommended for wheelchair/mobility equipment or stroller users).
Just to be clear this trail is not 5 miles one way. I rode to the end and back with and got off the trail multiple times for several miles and still did not get a whole 10 miles in. Besides that the trail is in good condition and there were not a many people using it. I would recommend parking on the Sumiton side of the trail.
