Hernandez Peak and McDill Point Loop Trail is a 6.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Brierfield, Alabama that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
A typical Alabama hiking trail, the only difference is if you go while the Cahaba Lillies are in bloom. The lillies are what I call ugly beautiful. You have to see them to appreciate them. They only grow in specific conditions along this river. Shallow shoals with running water. There is a scenic overlook at the river and is worth the hike. The trail is not difficult and reasonably marked.
