Trail through historic Red Mountain Park that leads past old mining buildings and mine shafts to an overlook of Birmingham. Don't forget to stop by the treehouse along the trail near the overlook.
Red Mountain Park is a good time and is perfect for a Sunday afternoon hike. Don't expect too much in the way of a challenge, and the red mud can be a pain to get out of your clothing. The view from Grace's Gap is decent and offers a fun stroll past some cool attractions.
Love this trail. You pass a lot of fun things on the way, and it’s an easy enough walk. The overlook itself isn’t crazy spectacular, but you get an interesting view of the city from an angle you might not be used to seeing it from.
I absolutely loved this trail, and Red Mountain Park in general is a wonderful place to spend the day! Great view of downtown Birmingham!
The look out was not very good. But on the way up there is a swinging gate bridge that was fun and a tree house look out that you could get a view of the city.
The view was a wonderful reward!!
Amazing ride and park. Ruff riding, but well worth it. We went 4 of us from 48 to 7 years old and had a blast. Made it from the Parking near the Zip lines to Grace's Gap and enjoyed the beautiful views also a bonus tree lookout and bridge. God is good, and Alabama is a Wonderful State. God bless America. May the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ Bless us all with his Unconditional Love. May our Fathers Grace be with you all. Amen.
Great hike with well maintained trails which become more challenging as you near the top. The reward for reaching the top is a wonderful view of the Birmingham skyline.
Great hike with the kids and dog!
Great little hike - short enough to be good for kids. You also pass by a small treehouse (off the trail near the old miner's bath house) and a large treehouse with a rope bridge near the overlook. Great views. Pretty even in terms of elevation - nothing really steep. Beautiful overlook of Birmingham at the end of the trail.
