We love this park for camping and hiking, it has re-opened, and the Bell/CCC trail and the Gazebo trail are both opened and being groomed and revised for maximum use and enjoyment. Yellow blazes mark the Gazebo trail and it is NOT just on the road, although part of it is at present. Red bells and yellow blazes mark the CCC/Bell trails on the other side of the lake. Come explore this GEM in Alabama.

We went with some friends who raved about this park. FYI it does cost $2 per person to enter the park.
The trail was a dirt road all the way up to the Gazebo. The Gazebo was pretty neat. We stayed there for about an hour or two. Ate lunch, stayed in hammocks and relaxed. I wasn't impressed with the trail very much as it was as mentioned before, a dirt road, but other than that the Gazebo was nice. When you get back to the main area it was pretty where all the water was. There was a little trail going across the water on the opposite side of the dam that was pretty.

you may want to check this trail out at Little River State Park. There is talk of the park being closed in October. Pine Savannah, so beautiful, and so many birds. The walk is light to moderate and well maintained. An Easy walk for the entire family with a gazebo to have lunch and enjoy the view.
