The Escatawpa River is a lovely river to canoe or kayak. I've done it several times with my husband and our children. Lots of white sand beaches to stop and picnic. Several rope swings have been hung by locals and are fun if you dare. Check the water level before planning a trip. If there has been lots of rain the river can become very swollen and much faster with few places to stop and enjoy. Very quiet and peaceful. It's an easy float.

A fantastic lazy way to enjoy a totally undeveloped stretch of beautiful unpolluted water. sand bars for picniking and playing on, miles away from citynoise.
