Bird WatchingFeeGreat!

A nice little trail. Unless you ask at the park gate the trail head could be a little hard to find as you have to go past a sign that says "campers only beyond this point." So if you're not a rule breaker, you won't get to the trail head. A couple of areas where the trail is not marked all that well and a few downed trees that can make traversing the trail a little difficult but other than that very nicely done. Worth the drive out to the park and you can go rest in the artesian wells after you're done. There is a day use fee for the park.

this was not a very good trail. there were spiders everywhere and down trees. we gpt turned around once. trail is not well maintained. it definitely needs maintenance. its basically like just going through the woods around your house. i expected more from this.

Great trail until about the half way point. For about 1/2 mile there was a lot of blow downs and generally unkept trail. A little difficult to navigate for the kids but even a two year old made it the entire way. The trail head is 1/2 mile from the parking area making it three miles total.

Several trees down across the trail, a few of them are trail markers. Some portions of the trail are hard to identify. The trail is easy to walk. We completed with a 4 and 6 year old.

my son (in his 30's) liked it, but he's from North Dakota and everything is nice compared to there. I found the trail severely unmaintained. We were bushwhacking for a good amount of time. when people say it is poorly marked, they aren't kidding. not only was the trail sparcely marked, it was confusing. Almost like the marking man didn't know how to mark. there were twigs, branches, limbs, trees and tangles of Vines across the trail. there were times when we didn't know if we were on the trail. one other thing: there was poison ivy continually on the sides of the path and often on the path.

Trail is definitely an easy trail. It is well defined and pretty well marked. Follow the blue blazes to hike the 2-mile route. There were a couple of muddy areas, but very easy to navigate around these.

Trail well marked and easy to follow. Saw lots of birds and flowering plants. There are apparently some shorter loops as there were blue, white, and yellow trial blazes but the blue ones mark the 1.9 mile trail.

This trial is everything you would expect from a South Alabama trail. I hiked this trail at 8 in the morning and was my boarded with spiderwebs and horse flies. The trail runs along multiple creek beds. Make sure you wear bug spray, a lot of heavy duty bug spray.

As of 03/21/19, there are wild hogs on this trail. I couldn’t finish because I ran into a passel of hogs. Otherwise, nice uphill downhill trail.
