Well-maintained trail for hiking, geocaching, trail running, and mountain biking. There is a long approach trail to get to the loops. This track is for the approach trail and the north loop. Nice views of Hurricane Creek. Quiet pine forest. Easy to moderate hike. The approach trail has more elevation change to it than the loop. The loop is very flat and easy.

It was a fine trail. We got lost multiple times because the signs throughout don't match the big map at the trailhead. It is well maintained though, and the views are pretty in the winter when you can see the creek through the trees.

Nice trail, very flat. No way to see the valley as it is too wooded. Great place to bring a beginner and have a picnic!

Nice moderate trail for an afternoon hike in November. Beautiful fall foliage, good trail bed, could use a few more signs to mark the way. Met a few other hikers, not enough to feel crowded.

We didn’t see the actual trailhead to start on so we began by the creek and after walking a narrow rocky trail we finally found a way up to the access trail to the loops. Once on the actual trails we enjoyed them and they appeared well kept and were marked fairly well. We did mostly North loop and Cliff trail and was able to locate the actual trailhead on the way back out, which is better accessed at the top of the parking area. We originally missed it because we parked at the boot on of the lot near the shelter.

Trails are well maintained and I didn’t run into too many people once I got into the back trail loops. A couple people were walking their dogs without leashes and they got a little contentious with my smaller dog. Other than that, it was a great time!

Amazing! Many options to go longer and at the start, which we did at the end, jumped in the water!

Nice, peaceful trail loop. There are a few benches 1/4 way in the north loop. The north and south loops are flat and easy, but be warned; we saw lots of poison ivy. The entrance approach trail is more elevated and rocky, but once u get on the loops they are very flat. There are a few Y branches off the north loop but they end right back on north loop. There are several pretty places to swim. The trail head is up the hill from the parking area and you have to park on the side of the road.

Great hiking trails! More trails than shown on this app. Beautiful scenery and views of Hurricane Creek and rock formations, a cave and even a bridge over a creek. you could hike for over 3 or 4 hours if desired. Very well maintained.

Great running/walking trail. Dog friendly, saw some others on the trail but was fairly serene and quiet. Will definitely return.

trail is not well marked. You park in the Hurricane Park parking lot and then walk up the road to the trail head so park right when you enter the paying lot. The trail is in good shape and is easy hike. We added the South loop to make the total home about 4.5 miles and we were able to do it in about 2 hours.

The trails are well maintained and easy to follow. This would be a great hike to do with kids and pets. Not overly challenging if you have been hiking for a while.

As a new hiker, I found this trail appropriate for my skills. It is peaceful, pretty, and quiet. Cyclists and hikers share the path, so be alert. I did both loops and found the approach more daunting than the actual trail. I plan to make this a regular part of my training.

My Fitbit measured 4 miles. A few steep hills but mainly a rolling hike thru the woods and the loop was mainly flat. Nothing but trees and a small pond. The deeper in the woods the more peaceful. I could hear cars for about the first mile or so.

Hiked on a Saturday after a big rain and the trail was still hard packed. Only one tree down but the trail was good. Did the total trail system and it took us a little more than an hour and a half. This is a good practice trail for something bigger.

More easy than moderate. This trail was okay, decent and relatively easy. A lot of shade so it’s ok going there on sunny and hot days. Well maintained trail. Went to both the north and south loops on the same day.

This is very nice trail system close to the University of Alabama. It is very easy to follow. There are two serious hills to climbs, but other than that, the elevation changes are easy. You can still hear highway traffic, but it is still peaceful. Hikers and bikers are sharing the trails, so be mindful, but the locals are super nice.

Started at the main entrance and followed through to the north loop. A portion of the way in began walking on the newly made mountain bike trail then joined back in to main north loop. Stopped by the short portal loop then back out. Mosquitoes were bad due to climate/terrain but otherwise a good hike

For this area, Tannehill is my #1 choice for mountain biking followed by Hurricane Creek's North and South loops. Wonderful for all skill levels.
