Easy trail, beautiful scenery. Had two kids (8 and 2) both were able to hike with no problems. Kids loved it. Will go back again.

The Alabama Coal Mining Museum is right next to this location. It is interesting of you have the time. If you are nice to the curator, he may give you a tour of the Aldridge Mansion.

A 30 acre estate that has a short trail but is big on flowers. The public gardens has a trail around a five acre lake which showcase the hydrangia along with many other flowers, trees and shrubs. The estate is well maintained and maincured. The walk is easy with wide, smooth paths and a nice place to go for an evening stroll. There is a museum (converted home) which showcase local artists work and events nearly every weekend.
