Yawzi Point is the piece of land that breaks up Lameshur Bay and Little Lameshur Bay. Lameshur Bay has a rocky beach and Little Lameshur has a sandy beach. The Yawzi Point trail is relatively flat, well marked, and usually well maintained. The round trip for this hike is less than a mile but it offers some beautiful views of the southern coast of St. John. Little Lameshur is also the starting point for the Lameshur Trail. The Lameshur Trail connects with Europa Point Trail, Europa Bay Trail, Reef Bay House Trail, Reef Bay Trail, Petroglyphs, etc...

Yawzi Trail is a fabulous little hike we did in our flip flops after snorkeling at Little Lameshur Bay. Gorgeous views of the water and both Little and Great Lameshur Bay. The views from the peninsula are stunning. Hike is super easy.

This peninsula is called Yawzi Point because people infected with yaws, an infectious tropical disease causing destructive skin and bone lesions, were once forced to live, and die, here.

Near the beginning of the trail, about half way up the first hill, you will find the remains of two old stone buildings.
