Cinnamon Bay Trail is a 1.8 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Leinster Bay, Saint John, US Virgin Islands that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Shaded loop shows you the island's history of old sugar factories. You can easily get here from the Cinnamon Bay Campground.
March 10, 2021Great short and easy trail with a lot of ruins! Lots of information signs about the history, also lots of birds around! Walk across the road to Cinnamon Bay for another beautiful beach with more historical sites.

December 31, 2020This is a review for Cinnamon Bay Trail to America Hill. Highly recommend! It is a steep climb with some loose rocks so wear proper shoes. The view of Maho and Francis Bays and the BVI is gorgeous, especially with the ruins overlooking them. Must do!
December 23, 2020Pretty narrow trail, most of the time with no view as the trail goes is in the forest. There is only one point where you will have a great view to Cinnamon Bay. The end of the trail was a disappointment for us as it ends at a road with no views at all.
December 7, 2020Mixed trail with elevation changes, rocky areas, and grasses. Narrow towards the top of the trail towards centerline road. 1.2 miles one way. Left from parking lot in cinnamon bay and ended with some swimming, snorkeling, and lunch at the beach. Kids Ages 14-20

April 16, 2019Did the shorter trail up to Great House Ruins via America Hill. Great views from the House. Good shade. Good length short hike for 8 yr old, followed by jumping into the ocean at Cinnamon Bay.

April 3, 2017Nice trail. Slick when wet. Hiked the trail down several times. There is a bus stop on centerline road at the trailhead so we took the trail to Cinnamon Bay Campground (where we were staying) to save on taxi fares. Side trip up to American Hill worth the effort.
