It's a loop with a bit of a spur off it. In completing it, you bag 3 Wainwrights: Broom Fell, Lords Seat and Barf. Barf gives you magnificent views of Bassenthwaite and the Derwent valley and Keswick beyond. The terrain is a mix of rocky, marshy and shingly and you get open hills, forest trails and forest tracks. The views are magnificent and all in all, it's a wonderful way to spend 3 or so hours.
