Discover this enchanting stroll through classic Kentish countryside and peaceful Plaxtol along the Greensand Way. Majestic trees, rolling open fields, historic houses and the picturesque village of Plaxtol - one of the most scenic areas in Kent - make this peaceful Greensand Way walk a delight for all the family throughout the year. Look out for... - The historic homes of Ightham Mote and Fairlawne Mature woodland - The original oak Cromwellian alter in the Lady Chapel at Plaxtol Church - The old village pound where lost animals of the village were locked up at night by the high wall on the north side of Plaxtol Church - A roadside nature reserve

Enjoyed even though we took a wrong turn and ended up walking through Ightham Mote, which was a pleasant detour.

I didn't walk this exact route but was inspired by it, having used to walk here many years ago.

I walked on Christmas Eve around here. The soil is clay and muddy but it was enjoyable. I went past Ightham Moat which is spectacular although it was closed. Back through the grounds of the Fairlawn Estate and down into the village.

I used only an OS map to check my location but noticed the entire area has 4G coverage, so AllTrails could have easily been used!

First time of trying this app to follow a route. Used an old HTC phone with no SIM so battery life not an issue. The route is slightly out of date as there is a diversion coming into Plaxtol. I also failed to follow the route for a while until getting back on track in Plaxtol itself. That is what the GPS is there for and it did the job and did not spoil the walk. Guess it would be helpful if the route was updated though
