Parking is available free at the car park next to Flora Motors by Helston boating lake TR13 0RA. From here take the path from bridge at bottom of boating lake (first photo with gate). Follow this path past lake around bend until you see the stables to your left, Bear left at this point and follow path. Past the stables with tea rooms to your right, go past first turn to your right and 100m further on there is a path up through the wood's to your right. This was the relief route when the coast path went down earlier this year (2018). This path is signposted and marked by yellow arrows. Go to the very top of the woods, enjoy view of the lake and follow path across fields till you get to tarmac road. The point here is to get down to the harbor and the path will take twists and turns its way down, but any way down will get you there. So at road go right for 100m and take small path to left through the wall. Cross field to new housing estate, go straight through to road and turn left. go down road for 100m and turn right into public car park. Straight through and past swings and slides to left and exit playing fields to your right. go down to junction cross road to your left, then across road 25m to your right are steps going down towards the harbor, at bottom carry on down then go right then left into Salt Rock Lane and down to harbor. Café to your left Pub to your right, enjoy a well earned break. There is a regular bus back to Helston from here. U4. When ready to continue, proceed with harbour to your right towards sea wall. Bear left at church up the hill. Stand at base and imagine how high the waves were. Follow this quiet road along to car park at base of cliff, keeping the sea close to yourself on your right. Go up path out of car park to top of cliff (steepest part of walk but only 50m if that). At top admire views then proceed along SW coast path till you come down by house on cliff which you can see in front of you. Pass front of house on your right, then go left and down to Loe Bar, (warning do not enter the sea, very dangerous tides). Cross Loe Bar with lake to your left and follow path along the far side of the lake, keeping lake on your left. This section is very easy going keeping lake as near as you can at all times to your left. Go around dog leg past cottages to your right, and 150m past cottages go through gate to left off main gravel path and enter field. Cross field and go through gate at far end. Now a lovely walk through the woods again keep lake close by on your left at all times. You will cross a open area a small stream and then come to a concrete road. Go left up slight rise and look for old mine chimney by side of route. 10m before chimney take path down some steps to your left. Cross the bridge over stream and then go right and follow stream all the way back to the car park.
