Train takes you to the Schynige Platte visitor center at the top, which has a little patio restaurant with some of the best views in the world. The views of the Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau are beyond imagine. On the other side, the overlook of Brienzersee is equally stunning, more in the sheerness of the edge. There is a 2 meter section of the trail that narrows on both sides, but aside from that the hiking is fairly easy.

Beautiful trail! Pretty easy and doable for most people. There is a steep incline in the beginning, so as long as you make it up that portion, you'll be fine! Highly recommend climbing the trail up to Oberberghorn (its just one trail, not two) for even better panoramic views! We took the train up from Wilderswill and had lunch at the restaurant. Interlaken was SUPER cloudy and I was bummed at first, but this trail was high enough that we were over the clouds and it was super sunny!

We did Panorama trail Loucherhorn. This exceeded all our expectation. Beautiful scenery throughout the whole loop. For those who does not want to do steep hiking up or down, you can skip the first part and take another way but still do the pretty much whole trail. We loooves it!

Beautiful trail on the top of a magnificent mountain range. Highly recommended. We had done Jungfrau and certainly it is amazing as well. However this trail won’t challenge you with the Oxygen challenges at higher levels and you won’t be walking on a glacier.

Stunning! I highly recommend. Get the old train up (about 50 mins) and then hike to your hearts content. Lots of big or small hikes to choose from. Some parts of some trails are quite rocky so I would recommend good strong shoes.

Beautiful views of the Bernese Highlands as well as the surrounding lakes and countryside. The train takes you to a station near hotel with restaurant. Be sure to bring plenty of water, so you can explore.

I was looking for a short morning hike due to bad weather predicted later in the day and I couldn’t have asked for better! This hike is absolutely stunning. In July it was covered in wildflowers, surrounded by absolutely gorgeous mountains, and views of the brilliant blue lake in Interlaken. It took us about two hours to complete, and was quite easy. If you go counterclockwise from the train station the ascent is quite gentle, though you will have a steep climb down. If you have more time I would definitely recommend a longer hike from Schynige Platte, but if you have low time or energy this is an amazing option. Getting there: There is a slow mountain train to Schynige Platte from Wilderswil station in Interlaken. It’s pretty expensive: CFH 40 or so though our hotel gave us a visitor card with a discount. You can also get connecting trains from either of the train stations in Interlaken. The train takes about an hour from Wilderswil but it is a beautiful ride. One word of caution: on this map the lookout point at Oberberghorn is marked as a loop. It is NOT. There is a well marked, safe and easy trail up to Oberberghorn, but it is out and back. We tried to go up what we thought was one side of the loop and it was an extremely dangerous unstable rock scramble which could have easily injured us or anyone hiking below with falling rocks. Don’t try to go up unless you see a trail and a sign! But then definitely do it is gorgeous.

I walked this trail with a good friend in Oktober of 2017. We took the train to the station on Schynige Platte and hiked from there. The views of the Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau are beyond imagine. On the other side, the overlook of Brienzersee is equally stunning, more in the sheerness of the edge. There is a 2 meter section of the trail that narrows on both sides. It was all I could do to make it across. Had a great time and am looking forward to doing more hiking in this gorgeous country!

Should be called the Schynige Platte Panorama Trail - very famous, very beautiful. Train takes you to the visitor center at the top, which has a little patio restaurant with literally the best views in the world (and I mean that literally literally, not figuratively). The Panorama Trail hike is pretty easy and very beautiful, and only a taste of the hiking in the area, but do it!!
