Getting There

Magnificent views, glittering lakes, lush forests and many interesting historical sites. The lovely Hyssna Trail is about half an hour’s drive from both Borås and Gothenburg. This walking trail, around 40 km long, passes through several beautiful nature reserves, for example the beautiful beech woods at Stomsås and Liagärde. As well as the stunning scenery and the many lovely viewpoints there’s much more to experience on the walk, such as the Giant’s Kettle pothole, a 12th century church, and an exciting cave.

There are several ways to get to the trail with public transport, for example: Bus 331 from Mark, bus stop "Hyssna gamla kyrka" Bus 330 from Gothenburg or Mark, bus stop "Sandvad"

Good trail - great for 2 day hike / 1 night in the forest. Great viewing points and diverse nature surroundings - although main part is in the forest. Path is wel taken care of for largest part. Enjoy!

Hiking

It's a very scenic trail that pass by a few of lakes. There's unfortunately no water near their suggested overnight spot, so either fill up at the lake before or alternatively stay by that lake. Excitingly, there were bats out at night at the camp, so definitely bring a strong flash lamp so you can see them.

A beautiful trail which leads you around the small village of Hyssna. The southern part is the most beautiful but also hardest part with many smaller up- and downhills. Perfect for a longer trail run or hike. Can be shortened by taking one of the gravel roads which connects the trail from north to south.
