In the centre of Skåne, east of the Ringsjöarna Lakes lies the exciting recreation area of Fulltofta. Fulltofta is an old country estate with impressive oaks and wide open pastures. At the heart of the site are Fulltofta Nature and Visitor Centre, an interactive exhibition and a café. An adventure playground, barbeque area, footpaths, trails and places for fishing await you outside. You can go riding on Icelandic horses and if you want to stay overnight, there is a shelter and a cottage to rent. There are many stones at Fulltofta with a story to tell. Keep an eye out for the clearance cairns and ruins of crofts, which can be found in some places. They reflect the period when the area was inhabited and farmed. Fulltofta is one of the largest areas in Sweden with ancient fields and clearance cairns dating from the Stone Age. There are around ten marked trails of differing lengths – for shorter or longer walks or even for jogging. Three of the footpaths have been adapted for disabled visitors. The Skåneleden Trail passes through the area and there is a circular trail specifically for the Fulltofta Recreation Area.
