Chinyero Circular is located near Santiago del Teide, Spain. The trail is great for walking and normally takes 1-3 hours. Chinyero is the youngest volcano on Tenerife. It erupted in 1909 and the trail will bring you close to that century old explosion. You will see pine forests and the black ash and lava flows of the eruption. The scenery changes constantly as you circuit the volcano. It is well signed all the way around, though being a circular route, the signs never tell you how far you are from your own start point. The trail is in Teide National Park. There are many trails in the park and they make for an incredible trip through the islands.

Perfect for the beginner. It was a easy to follow trail as the trail has clear white and yellow markings (the crossed white and yellow markings means that its the wrong trail) and built up stone barriers on either side of the trail. Lovely pine forests broken up with lava field crossings. Highly recommended for the beginners or the family.

Nice family hike. Easy for our 9&6 year olds and really interesting. The hike goes through the forest and the lava fields. Very contrasting areas.

Extended Chinyero Loop! Fairly easy/ moderate hike through a wooded forest. We extended by useing the app and seeing other paths along the way. To note, I forgot to stop the route recording when we got back to the car so ignore the last bit of my recording.

Excellent trail, where you will be like in an desert because there are so few people.

4 Pkw.

Really nice views of lava fields, smaller volcanoes and the peak of Teide. Good shoes recommended, there are sharp rocks on the way. Starting from the Mirador as suggested before is a good idea.

Took us 2 hours to complete but doing a more spritely 15min/km. parking is not really possible at the start. You’re better off parking at the earlier mirador/viewing spot. Leave no valuables in car. Good trail. Lots of variety. Not too strenuous. Great to circle around Chinyero.

Denkt daher an ausreichend Sonnenschutz.

Beautiful trail. Shaded so refreshingly cool. Take a jacket. Thoroughly enjoyed this short walk. Look for the chinyero road signs. you can park on side of road and walk 600m or if you carry on around the bend there is a dirt track down the hill with plenty of parking for camper vans.

difficult parking on the main road. the loop can be added to by walking towards Santiago del teide and La Mancha on well signposted trail.

Nice place for a trail run! Parking place is about 200/300 meters from the entrance of the path, so you need to walk a bit further up the road to get there... Interesting and spooky place when it’s cloudy, but really nice views!

It was a lovely unexpected walk we did with our 14 month old daughter in a baby rucksack. Took us 2.5hrs with a stop for a picnic half way. It’s a good family trail.

Easy walking for couple of 55+. Park about 1km south. Track well marked, good underfoot. Remember it's cooler than on the coast. Nice scenery!
