Castell de Mas Carbó \ 'domus de la Rovira \ Municipality: Sant Hilari Sacalm Type: Casa forta Chronology: 12th-15th century Duration: 6 hours Along the hike to Castell de Mas Carbó you can see the remains of the medieval fortress house of the domus de la Rovira, in the municipality of Sant Hilari Sacalm (Selva), documented since 1252, which was the dominion of the Gurb and the Sarriera. Since the thirteenth century, this force held the castle of Solterra as a jurisdictional center of the term, and its lords, first the Vilademany and then the Gurb, resided here until the fifteenth century, when it was abandoned in favor of a new house in the village (Can Rovira). There are notable ruins excavated from 1924 to 1926. The remains were excavated under the direction of JMPericas. Although covered with vegetation, you can see several internal chambers and some shattered walls.
