This route is part of a multi week long walk, along the Camino del Norte, also known as the Northern Way. The Camino del Norte is a pilgrimage route starting in Irun and finishing at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. It can be done at a variety of paces and starting points. This section has a steep uphill and it can be slippery and muddy. You will be crossing over rocks and boulders, and hiking up stairs. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended. Enjoy the lush nature and beautiful ocean views that you will find along this trail. This route takes pilgrims along the wonderful northern Spanish coast, from the Basque Country, across Cantabria, Asturias and on to Santiago de Compostela, in the center of Galicia. Legend has it that the remains of the Saint Apostle Santiago are buried there. Every spring and summer, many people follow its routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth. It is also popular with hiking and cycling enthusiasts and organized tour groups. Gorgeous trail. We started in San Sebastian and walked east for a few miles and then back down. We found one side trail that allowed us an incredible view from one of the rocky peaks.

unfortunately something went wrong. as I am new to this and being my first solo hike instead of walking a scenic route I ended up walking through the streets and main road. pasaia was amazing though stunning scenery

Walked this beautiful family friendly trail on a summer day. each view more beautiful than the next.

Ended up walking it backwards. There is a bus that will take you to or from the finish in Pasaia. There is a fantastic wooden ship museum at the end. This suggested route is along the cliffs and is less used so can be a little overgrown and there is a dark and wet tunnel halfway.
