This circular route surrounds the Sierra de Juan Diego and climbs to its highest peak, Pico Ventana. Start from the village of Benaojan, leaving the Tajo del Castillejo on your right. After passing a first fence you will ascend as indicated by the track, since it is a zone of multiple veredillas. Soon, at the height of the cortijo of Monte Prieto, you will coincide with a lane that arrives from the road, and that will lead you to the beautiful farmhouse Pojeuelo. Full of cattle, retintas cows and sheep, it constitutes a beautiful landscape. Pass a fence and leave the track that leads to the Hoyito del Niño Fernando with the Cortijo Baldío in its center, and look for a path on the right that takes you to the Escaleretas. Curious stone path that, they say, was built by the Arabs to communicate Villaluenga del Rosario with Benaojan. The trail turns north and you will find a junction. On the left continue towards Puerto de la Cufría. Take the one on the right that will leave you at the Pozuelo pass. There you will find another fence that you will pass then stay glued to it as you make your way up little by little towards the base of Pico Ventana. At this point you will find a steep climb that will lead you first to a viewpoint and then to the top. Once you have enjoyed the beautiful views from Pico Ventana go down the same slope looking for the lane that can be seen in the plain. Once there head Northeast. You will cross some places where you can spot vultures, mountains, etc. Later you will see farms and orchards of all kinds. Make your way to Montejaque. Take the road that will lead you to Benaojan and the starting point completing this beautiful route.
