On the northern slopes of the Sierra de las Nieves and before reaching the peaks, Enamorados and Torrecilla, is the modest Peñón de Ronda. This trail consists of a route that will circle the rock with the option of ascending to its summit, from the summit you get beautiful views of the most impressive canyons, the Horn and the Animas. Then you will cross the beautiful gorge of Encina between a magnificent forest of Spanish firs, gall oaks, holm oaks and in the high zone junipers. You will also find the farmhouses of Casas de Huarte, with their orchards of fruit trees, the farmhouse of Peñón de Ronda, and the ruins of Palancar. It is also interesting to point out the remains of old mining sites, as evidenced by some of the mine mouths located next to the road and if you dare to descend to the bottom of the ravine you will find the remains of the blast furnaces of the mine of San Eulogio.
