This route will take you into the heart of the Sierra Almijara. The area is known for its rugged beauty. The terrain alternates between deep valleys and soaring peaks like the Lucero, Cielo, Cisne, Almendron and Navachica. You will leave from Frigiliana to the Higuerón river, then ascend the gentle slopes of the Sierra de Enmedio. From the slopes you will meet the Chillar river and begin the ascent to Cortijo del Imam. You will come across Aleppo pine, riparian plants in the river area, Mediterranean scrub, mastic, rosemary, matagallos, albaida, rock rose, and boxwood.
