The ancient mountain village of Sella is located 18Km inland from the coastal town of Villajoyosa on the Spanish Costa Blanca. This small and authentic village is surrounded by magnificent mountain peaks and ridges, almond terraces, forested valley trails and dramatic gorges, making it a perfect location for walkers. Sella is also famous for having some of the best rock climbing in Europe. This walk, which in such a mountainous region is a relatively easy route, and is a great introduction to walking in this area. Depending on the time of year, you will see olives, almond blossom, oranges and lemons, various wild herbs, several varieties of birds and if you are really lucky, maybe a wild boar!

I enjoyed this walk, made a few wrong turns, there are green and white signs marking the route so keep a look out, I walked it anti-clockwise, towards the last quarter is a relatively steep climb, take water and hat, saw cats, dogs, gecko’s and the odd chicken, but no wild boar :) walked it April 20th so nice temperature.
