This is a classic Cape Town hike, for those who like a bit of a thrill and looking down into big open spaces. Do this one when the weather is good and you will not be disappointed!!

What you miss with just hiking Plattenklip is that none of your photo's have the spectacular Table Mountain in them. Plus I would argue the overall views from Devil's Peak are better anyway. The 1st half to the Saddle is easier, with the 2nd half being steeper and with larger step ups. There is also a section of loose stones/rocks that could be ankle turners. Take plenty of water and sunscreen as shade is limited througout - although we did have a later than intended start time. If you don't have a vehicle, Uber can do drop off and pick up atbthe start from Tafelberg Rd start point. Just make sure the driver has the right drop off destination as ours relocated to loeer down the hill. Ignore the distance, forgot tomstop recording before returning to CBD.

Great hike. Unfortunately we had poor visibility at the summit, but all in all a wonderful experience!

I completed the knives edge trail and loved it because I’m into extreme hikes. I would highly recommend the route to most extreme fella hikers

Gem of a hike, much less traveled than Lion's Head or even Table Mt. We used to do a challenge we called the peak bagger, we would ascend all three in one day, not to difficult, would have to trail run to get it all in. Love this area, especially when you are in the saddle between Devils peak and table Mt., its beautiful.
