There's 3 trail distances, the 5, 10, and the 15km. I did the 15km (solo) , and I must say that not once did I feel bored. It can get slippery in some parts where the stream flows and in wet weather. There's loads of loose rocks, so please focus, something that I actually really enjoyed cause it kept me in the zone. The last 5km of the 15km trail is very challenging and will get the heart rate pumping. This trail is just something. You will occasionally be reminded that you're surrounded by civilisation, but it's not enough to dampen the mood. Not sure if the water from the stream is safe to drink, so I didn't try. Didn't see any animals other than cattle grazing. If you're not fond of dogs like me, it can get irritating when the owners struggle to control them when they charge at strangers. I had 2 charge at me and I just stood my ground and on both occasions they stopped in their tracks. I wasn't upset, after all it is a dog-friendly hike, so, please exercise some tolerance to dogs.
This was an enjoyable easy-moderate trail with a change of scenery - enjoyed the forest feel of it. Did not feel like it was close to a residential area. We hiked with heavy bags so it was a bit difficult to manoeuvre through the zig-zag entrances - you could just pass the bags over the fence if needed. Trail is rocky which kept it interesting.
Amazing. The 5 km trail(green) packs a punch because of the rocky terrain. I am looking forward to doing the yellow trail soon
The trail was very well marked, never once felt lost on it. It is a safe and well protected place with a car guard at the entrance. Amazing views of Pretoria East and the surrounding area. Not super busy, well shaded. If you have dogs bring them! They’ll love it.
We did the 10km trail with our Rottweiler. The trail is mostly flat and doesn't require a high level of fitness but you need some endurance to navigate certain areas that become quite steep and rocky (especially if you hike with bags). It was a very hot day and there is not too much shade so pack lots of water! Awesome for off lead adventuring with your dog! (Watch out for and be respectful of the animals on the farm). Be prepared to push yourself and your pup Would recommend starting with the 5km trail if you are new to hiking @market_dog_sa
5mq5⁵The trail is clearly marked with beautiful flora along the route.
15km definitely awesome.. Moderate to hard at some point..My phone weak gps thou dissapointed..
my wife and i did the 15km trail, it was hectic i tell you but nice. the rocks just made the trail too difficult.
Great trail to run on the beautiful northern side of the Bronberg. Multiple options available as far as distance is concerned with 5, 8, 10 and 15 km available. 5km trail is relatively easy, but the longer distances can get rocky and technical in a certain areas - especially in single track.
