This trail can be used all year. In summer, there are no technical difficulties. In winter conditions it can be icy and tricky. Another hike (from the same starting point), in a northerly direction, over the southern wall of Komarča, via Črno jezero, to Koča pri Sedmerih jezerih (mountain hut, next to the Seven Triglav Lakes). From the starting point at Savica Falls Hut, this route look absolutely impressive. This route is recommended for people with mountaineering experience.

This is a never-ending hike on a winding path, which gets a bit boring after a while. In summer, there are no technical difficulties, in winter conditions it can be icy and tricky. If one is in a decent condition, I would much rather recommend another hike (from the same starting point), in a northerly direction, over the southern wall of Komarča, via Črno jezero, to Koča pri Sedmerih jezerih (mountain hut, next to the Seven Triglav Lakes). From the starting point at Savica Falls Hut, this route look absolutely impressive (actually, most people who are not mountaineers, and not familiar with the route, consider you crazy when you suggest it), but looks are definitely deceptive here and this hike is much easier than it appears from the valley. PS: Unfortunately, due to fallen trees and other damage caused by extreme weather, the Komarča trail is now (2019) closed to all hikers!
