This is a stunning landscape with multiple seabird colonies all along. It's slightly hilly, but the trail is well-maintained. The views of the ocean and cliffs are incredible.

Absolutely stunning views - cliffs, sea, fields, sheep, lake, lighthouse. Anything you’d want to see in one place

Wonderful views of the seabird encrusted cliffs. Don't go too close to the edge

Just over an hours drive from Edinburgh. We parked in the nature reserve car park - costs £3. Tea room, shops and toilets all available. Great wee trail. Views on a nice day are fantastic. Well worth getting out of Edinburgh. Highly recommended. Never seen so many butterflies and bees.

Nature trips

Such a wonderful and easy trail for nature lovers. We didn't follow the trail to lighthouse as we wanted a little more time to explore the town and Eyemouth. Parking is accessible at the visitor center for a small fee (2 pounds). Just walk a bit down the road, take a right at the wall, and enjoy this beautiful coastal area. It's nice that it's gotten a lot of press due to the town's use as New Asgard in the Avengers film. Once you get past that wall you will have some uphill hiking to do (which is easy), leading to spectacular views of the marine areas. You can walk on the beach and take fantastic photos. We decided to take a left at a small pond area and continue on. This is a hidden gem of the area, with a family of swans letting us have a moment in their day. The path continued on through private farming lands, where you can see the sheep to your heart's content. Then take a left on the main road and you're back to the parking area. There coastal walk is very open with little shade, so bring a hat to keep the sun at bay. This is one of the many great places in Scotland that many people miss. Take a trip to the Borders region and you'll see so much. I highly recommend it for families and for picnicking.
