Absolutely beautiful hike! The first part of the trail has been clear cut to get rid of invasive coniferous plants and then replant native broadleaf plants. If you're concerned about parking, delay your like until after 2 PM. There was loads of parking later in the afternoon. I was there earlier and parked a bit up the road and then hiked to the traihead. It wasn't a bother, I was there to hike anyway.

Beautiful hike and certainly deserving of its status as the most iconic hike on Skye. The parking situation is a disaster though. The local council has started ticketing anyone who parks on the east side of the road. The only notice of this is a sign partially hidden in the bushes leaning against the fence by the gate at the start of the trail. Unless you're lucky enough to snag one of the few legal parking spots on the west side of the road, you're pretty much stuck paying the £30 parking ticket or else parking miles down the road. Too bad the council is more interested in collecting fines than building more parking to solve the problem.

It's achievable but you have to consider the weather can get quite windy It's a great view from the top

The hike itself is not great. Lots of cleared trees and tons of erosion due to people as well as sheep. The trail was muddy when we went. It’s good cardio going up and the views are beautiful, but the hike itself is not very enjoyable.

It has been a few years, but most the path up had been stripped of trees and clear cut. Looking back provided nice views, but the way up was dusty and dull. once you pass the clear cutting, its a lovely hike. Too bad so many trees were taken down.

Awesome views, everywhere you turn is a pano! A very rocky and steep uphill climb to the top. I would recommend hiking poles and mids for hiking shoes.

Sadly there are areas that are overused and some areas were they suggest are off limits as there is occasionally falling rocks. Also all the trees on the lower part have all been chopped down and it's not very scenic in that area. Quite disappointing. The views above, however, are spectacular.

Hiked on May 14th 2019 Get there early if you want to park right by the trail and have a quieter way up. A great view from the top with the main attraction being the cutting edge stones. If you get clear skies you will be subject to shining lochs with barren mountains as the backdrop. A short gem of a trail.

Amazing amazing amazing! Highly recommend. Once at the ‘top’ where most people stop at the base of the spire, go to the right and hike the two rock peaks, incredible views. Parking was a mess, and crowded but thinned our significantly at the top.

This places natural beauty is slowly fading due to erosion. What was once one main path has turned into more than ten as people wander off trail and destroy the landscape. Please take care and stay on the trails to prevent it getting worse. Can get very muddy and watch out for falling rocks!
