A dramatic ride amongst some of Sutherland's truly ancient mountains and a rather special sea loch with Kylesku bridge.  Passing by the sea loch, the new hydro scheme, waterfalls and lochs on ancient tracks, you will come under the magic spell cast by Assynt. It's wild, it's remote and it will stay in your head for a long time, waiting to be brought out during one of those moments when a psychological boost/blanket is needed in the battle against real life.  It's no surprise to hear that several car adverts have been made in that location using the bridge and views as the backdrop. The tracks are steep in place and generally very rough.  A full susser makes best sense.  Check that it's all screwed together before and after the trip!  You can continue eastwards towards Lochmore Lodge and the A838.  In fact, there's still a bit of exploration to be done in that area. Typical wildlife seen in summer would be: slow worms, seals, otters, red-throated and black-throated divers, eiders, golden eagles and red deer (and more frogs than you could swing a stick at). The sea lochs were used in WW2 as a top secret facility for testing midget submarines.  Happily, it's peaceful now in everyway.
