An adventurous, challenging and rewarding route with some serious climbs, a meandering pipeline ride and ending with the very antithesis of trail centre trails.  All of this takes place amongst dramatic mountain scenery and offers a feeling of real remoteness at times. The section from Blackwater Dam down to Kinlochleven, the true Ciaran Path, is a mixture of rough, loose (it is used as a trials route for motorbikes) baby's head-sized cobbles with longish sections of very rough, steep bedrock.  Some will loath it.  Most will rise to the challenge soon realising just how very mortal they are.  There's no shame in walking parts.  Only the very few will get anywhere near cleaning it.  It's no surprise that most of the pics for this route were taken before the downhill! BTW: code RED area for midgies!
