What makes this walk special is that it runs through the heart of some of Edinburgh's key areas and you wouldn't know it. It feels like you've escaped the city yet it's easy to get back whenever you feel like it. The bus 44 runs along aide the greater stretch of the route so you'll always have an accessible way back to Edinburgh city centre.

This walk is lovely. We got a good day yesterday. There’s a few diversions in place due to the paths needing repaired due to the land movement and signs are few and far between. Some signs are yellow and white for the diversions. Overall great day and we got amazing weather for it! Bring plenty snacks and water. I will point out there are hardly any bins so bring a bag for your rubbish especially if you’re willing to help clear up the rubbish others have dropped. Walk took us nearly 6 hours from start (Balerno) to finish (Leith) with stops for photos and refreshments.

Nice path along the river through Edinburgh. Well paved so wasn't difficult. We walked from Dean Village to Leith which was only about 5K but saw some really nice views along the water. It took about 60-90mins to walk it. A nice way to see Edinburgh.
